DMA led the behavioral health tasks on a large analytic study of Medicare-Medicaid enrollees for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services. One multi-method task analyzed the unmet need for SUD treatment among respondents reporting both Medicare and Medicaid eligibility in the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, and compared it to observed rates of prevalence of SUD seen in Medicare-Medicaid claims. In addition, DMA reviewed relevant literature to describe the likelihood of generating cost offset in medical/surgical services from expanding SUD treatment.
